May Light | Watercolor by Edbon Sevilleno

“May Light” 30cm x 23cm | 2005 Series | Watercolor by Edbon Sevilleno

Most of my watercolours are done from memories. It's a nostalgic affair rather than a record of a physical landscape. And that's makes all the difference, it becomes Art.

A colleague asked looking on this scenes... “ Is these places really exist?” He said he can almost gasp the silence and peace of the place.

Painting in Boracay

When I first came to Boracay in the early 90's, I was so inloved with the place. Since then I keep coming back each time I go for my vacation. In this picture, once I was with Rodney Martinez and Lino Severino ( both known watercolourist ) hunting for subjects in the Manok-manok side of the island. We have a show then at Manggo Ray with Nune Alvarado and Charlie Co.

This piece was one of those many works I did during my detailed finicky period. I was a big fan of Andrew Wyeth, I always admired his works. Some of his subjects were landscape where you see no people at all yet domesticated. He always leaved tracks of people.

Very Rewarding

Isn't it very rewarding to see your watercolours framed!

Gone painting

Green Rice Paddies... this is our farm in Bago where my Dad and Mom is fondly staying now.

Yara and Ezel painting.

Each year I have this privilege to have a month payed vacation. Usually I see to it that it falls on the mid of december, making sure I'll be home for christmas. Ever since I still find time to paint with watercolours. One idea of spending my time with my two little angels (daughters) Yara-age 5 and Ezel-age 4, was to paint with them. They loved it, and they too paint. So I bring them with me in some of my outdoor trips. If others find joy in fishing and hunting, painting landscapes is our hunting.
